Teenage myths

Popular myths about teenagers:
1. We only play on our phones
2. We never have to clean our rooms
3. Our parents don't discipline us enough
4. We dress innapropriately
5. We disrespect our elders

These are some common myths about the teenagers of our time. Let me debunk them for you!
1. We don't only play on our phones. We text on them too. We like to keep in constant contact with each other. Most of the time, if we're having a conversation with an adult, we don't even take our phones out because of the fear that they will get mad and take our phones away.
2. I don't know about the other kids in my class but my mom and dad have never cleaned my room for me. I've had to clean since I was old enough to walk. My grandparents come into my room and look around and they tell me what a mess it is but the funny thing is, I have usually just cleaned because I know were going to have company. They really just don't understand my methods and my poor judgement in time management.
3. My parents discipline me. I am slightly afraid of speaking to them when they are doing something other than speaking to me.
4. Many people, my parents included, say that teenagers dress innapropriately. This may be true in some cases but in others I think it's just ridiculous. I can understand them being upset by shorts that a girl's butt falls out of. That is understandable but if I wear a pair of skinny jeans that fit how they're supposed to, meaning tight, hence "skinny" jeans, I get dirty looks from old people. Times have changed since the knee length skirts and panty hose of their childhoods.
5. I can't speak for anybody else but I personally have never disrespected anyone over the age of 65. It may look like I'm disrespecting my grandparents or my parents but when I say something to then when I'm upset, it's because I'm upset, not because I'm a defiant teenager. My grandparents and I have a very open relationship and so I will say most anything that crosses my mind as long as it's reasonable. I think there is a fine line between disrespect and being open when you're upset with someone.

So in the grand scheme of things, old people just need to chill. Times have changed. Technology is better, clothes are more comfortable and more expressive of who you are, we do have to clean(surprise surprise), we do get in trouble and we do have manners, despite what it may seem.

School!

I am super excited to be back at school! I personally love school. I love seeing my friends because I live in the country. I didn't get to see any of my friends from school over the summer so I'm really happy to be back. Anatomy and physiology has been very difficult for me so far. We had to memorize directional terms in two days for a quiz. I think I passed but I'm not sure yet... Anyway, my easiest class has been accounting. I completely understand it and my numbers always equal so it makes me very happy and I'm glad that I decided to take it. I managed to get out of PE this year so I am super excited about that. It's a good thing too because I am not coordinated enough to ace PE.
